DROMANA NETBALL CLUB
Outdoor Sporting Ground
Maw Civil was engaged to undertake the construction of a new netball court and additional parking/road area at the Dromana Recreation Reserve. The project was divided into two main stages: Stage 1 involved the construction of the netball court, and Stage 2 focused on the road works.
In Stage 1, the netball court area was prepared by boxing out to sub-grade level, followed by laying and compacting the capping and sub-base layers. Electrical conduits were installed, light pole footings were augured, and the court’s final layer was poured. An exposed aggregate path was constructed around the court, which doubled as formwork for the final surface. Acrylic and line marking will be completed later.
Stage 2 involved the demolition of existing pavements, excavation, and compaction of the sub-base for the road area. After constructing the kerb and channel, sub-surface drainage was installed, and crushed rock was placed for the base course, ready for asphalt. The asphalt was laid by sub-contractors under Maw Civil’s supervision, followed by line marking. Other works included the construction of a retaining wall, installation of light poles, and completion of the exposed aggregate footpath.
