FRANKSTON ARTS CENTRE
Forecourt Development
Maw Civil was thrilled to hand over this project over to Frankston City Council in November 2026. The Forecourt redevelopment not only looks amazing, but it also enhances public safety and accessibility through new drop off zones and smoother surfaces, improved lighting for security and ambience, and more seating and landscaping to create a welcoming environment to wait or rest.
The redevelopment involved demolishing the existing area to allow for upgraded pathways, ramps and smoother surfaces for prams, wheelchairs, grand pianos and hospitality trolleys. Maw Civil also constructed a separate area for cars and pedestrians, clearly defining drop-off and pick-up zones and relocation of the bus stop.
The space was also enchanced with modern lighting fixtures to create a safe, yet warm and inviting atmosphere for evening visitors and additional seating and shelter was installed to provide more places to rest and wait, no matter what the Melbourne weather conditions delivered. Working with the Bunerong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation, Maw Civil helped design the beautiful water feature which honours the First People of Frankston.
